Mr. Michele Giovanni Buonomano

Michele Giovanni Buonomano has a Diploma in civil engineering and land surveying. He started working with Powerlines which later evolved to be ABB in 1970 as a site engineer/ project leader until 1993. In 1993 he formed (together with Mr G.Lamperini) Eagle Power Transmission which later evolved to Mkhulu. Besides being a part owner and Director, he has been involved in all Mkhulu projects as a site manager, driving delivery and project execution in the company. He has led the execution of over 40 transmission line construction projects in various countries over the last 50 years.

Managing Director

Dr. Jean Marcello Lamperini

Jean Marcello Lamperini has an Electrotechnical Diploma from the Institute of Technical and Industrial Studies in Reggio Emilia, Italy. He also has a Masters’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering (majored in structural engineering and thermodynamics) from University of Parma, Italy. His career began in 1996 as a project engineer for Landi Renzo S p A, a leading European company in LPG and LNG automotive Fuel Conversion. He joined EPT in 1997 as a Project manager, where he managed his first transmission line projects in sub-Sahara Africa. In 2000 he started his free-lance consulting in integrated engineering, and it is in this role that he was exposed to business start-up projects and turn-around strategy projects in Europe, USA, Far east for companies in the industrial /commercial plant building (Technical Director of Tecni-impianti) and automotive sector (Project and Production Manager International projects Meyster S.p.A.). In 2004 he joined Mkhulu where over and above directly managing projects he was tasked to develop the company from a mainly subcontracting family reality to a structured organization. He was subsequently formally appointed as General Manager in 2009, a title which changed to Managing Director in 2010. He has grown the company from humble beginnings to the major player it has become today in its industry.

Mr. Alessandro Lamperini

Alessandro Lamperinin has a degree in Political and Business Science, from the State University of Milan, Italy which was achieved 1in 1993. He has owned and has managed family restaurants from 1996 to 2013 in Capet Town, South Africa. He has been a shareholder and director in Mkhulu since November 2010.

Executive Director

Ms Zola Hlatshwayo

Zola Nozipho Hlatshwayo holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Swaziland (1997), Postgraduate Diploma from Bath University (2002), and a Master’s Degree from the University of Cape Town (2004).

She has worked for Swaziland Environment Authority as an information Officer and later as an Analyst, CCA Environmental as a consultant, Cradle of Humankind as an Integrated Environmental Coordinator, Eskom as a SHEQ Manager, and is now responsible for organizational Efficiency within Mkhulu. She has been a Director in Mkhulu since 2013 and has also been a Project Manager for various projects since joining the company.

Ms. Mary Francois Robinson

Mary Francois Robinson holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Communication Science and Linguistics from the University of South Africa. Her work experience began in 2004 and includes having worked as an editor for Homeguide Magazine and production manager at CR Publishing.

She has served as Director on the board of Mkhulu since 2013. Her current role is Training Manager at Siyazama Professional Management Services. She has helped establish this department and led it to attain accreditation with various Sector Education Training Authorities.
